For the first time in years, I’ll be attending a Dave Matthew’s Band concert in Pittsburgh on Saturday. It’s the first summer in a while that I’ll see the much-toured DMB.
It got me thinking, is there a band that was just a regular in your summer plans? Back in my late high school days and [...]

Pretty sad when gas stations can’t display high prices…
I just got the following press release, which addresses the old gas stations with non-digital dispensers that cannot go over $3.99 per gallon when displaying a price.
I guess now it’s OK to sell by the half-gallon, as noted in this release. It comes a day after one of our readers sent in a photo of [...]

Apologies
I’m sorry, work has been kicking my butt and I haven’t had time to post much this week.
That and I’ve been dealing with two flats on my Nissan, which occurred sometime after Sunday, the same day as my Mike Cole column …
Anyway, I should be back blogging soon. Hopefully this afternoon. I worked Monday, the [...]

Quick weekend thought…Indiana Jones movie stunk
Just a quick one for your Memorial Day Weekend.
I went to see the new Indiana Jones movie Friday with my wife and some friends. Let’s just say the best part of the movie was taking in the new Regal Cinemas at the Walden Galleria. Man, if Lockport could ever land a Regal, it would be [...]

A peek at Sunday’s column
Cole’s the best option? Really?
After returning from Albany a few days ago, I thought I had my brain sucked out by the politicians and negativity abounding in the state Capitol.
Now I’m starting to wonder if some Republican committeemen had a lobotomy as well.
Mike Cole won the Republican endorsement to return to Albany as an Assemblyman [...]

AWESOME video on Sunday’s Newfane meeting
If you go to the Newfane Cares Web site, there’s some great video shot by either Peter Soemann or Brian Hellner of the crazy, but hysterical Newfane Board of Education meeting.
Click here to go there now.
Make sure you click on the small play button to get the video going.
I was hoping to embed it right [...]

One Wilson student appearing tonight
Our cops and courts reporter, April Amadon, just found out that only one of the three students accused in the Wilson abuse case will appear in Wilson Town Court tonight. It will be Geoffrey Seefeldt.
Colton Sherman’s lawyer is out of town this week, so his case has been adjourned, according to April.
She doesn’t know the [...]

Cappy gets some cash
Cappy, the wooden guy who used to sit in the boat on Transit Road before his owner got mad at the city and took him to Florida, has received a grant from the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission.
They are throwing 3,000 bucks at this eyesore. I know it’s a Lockport staple, but it’s a boat on [...]

Productivity takes a dump
Got this from a friend and classmate in Leadership Niagara. Thought it was worth sharing. Like most e-mail fwds and attachments, you may have seen it before.
You may have also felt like you were in a meeting being directed by someone in the cartoon … or, like any good leader, you are the guy in [...]
