Having fun with new US&J poll

I’m having a lot of fun watching the poll at lockportjournal.com.

It asks: Now that the NHL has four teams fighting for the Cup, who are you pulling for?
Dallas
Detroit
Pittsburgh
Philadelphia (Because I love Philly!)
Philadelphia (But only because of Marty)

It’s funny, Dallas had no votes just a little while ago. That makes perfect sense, considering 1999.

Detroit has a handful of votes, and so does Philly, “just because” but Philly — because of Martin Biron — is in the lead. Not by much, though, as Pittsburgh has a lot of fans. Must be because of Crosby or something.

When I created the poll, I knew I wanted an option that included Biron. It seems whoever I talk to wants a winner from the east, has a hard time rooting for Philly, but said they really want to see Biron win. But then they don’t want Briere to win.

It’s basically where I am. Don’t want Philly. Don’t want Danny. But want Marty. The easier solution is to cheer for Pittsburgh. But then you’re cheering for Lemieux…ick.

If Philly did win, maybe they could spell Briere and Philadelphia Flyers wrong. It wouldn’t be the first time for Lord Stanley.
