Last week when I appeared on Scott Leffler’s radio show, the topic of political endorsements came up.
This is a discussion former publisher Steve Hall and I had and whether they were worthwhile. There is a lot of time invested in meeting with the Eastern Niagara candidates, then deciding as an Editorial Board who we want to support.
The question I have had and Scott echoed is: Should newspapers be in the business of endorsing, just because they always have? Are these endorsements necessary? Is the service provided worthwhile?
